Description
For yet another year, this tea is undeniable. As if the scent from the cup before taking a sip isn’t intoxicating enough, the soup delivers the trademark honey and orchid flavours that this varietal is named after in spades. There’s a reason we’ve carried this tea almost every year since its initial offering in 2016.
Made from old bush, high mountain material from Da An (大庵), this tea is a good standard for what a higher end Dancong should be. There is a smooth and full feeling in the mouth, as well as a strong huigan/lasting sweetness.
Having undergone multiple traditional charcoal roastings, this method lends a somewhat elusive quality to the tea that is often compared to Yanyun. While this quality is without a fixed definition, the oversimplified way of describing the effect of traditional processing is that it creates a more dynamic taste and fragrance, as well as deepens the energy/chaqi of the tea.

An exceptional year for Praise Bee!
I have tried 2 other years of this tea, the 2022 and 2023, and this year’s version stands out to me like a crystal bell ringing with honey and orchid for hours as you steep through the lovely brown-green leaves. Beginners, brew carefully at 185f for sugary sweetness and aroma in the cup that is matched flavor, Masters of the Chaozhou style fire your water hot and brew with great speed. Either way results in exceptional tea, truly a stand-out for me for the entire year!

One of my favorite oolongs from this year. Loved the flavor, a sexy color, it smells very sweet even dry. doesn’t last long but it has a very strong flavor that makes you feel good.

Intense heat wave
//Smell: The intensity of the smell is almost shocking (very strong – tropical fruits), a bit floral, tart candy, orange flower blossom, forest honey
//Texture: Evaporating sip, weight on the lower part of the mouth, cold coating of the lower teeth (the front ones even more), oily texture
