Night & Day 2023 Black & White Tea Blend

$3.00$89.00

Description

Less heavy handed than something like Body & Soul, this black & white tea blend is more of an agile welterweight, trading out some of the heavier body for more in terms of flavour and fragrance.

Made from spring 2023 Bulang area material, both teas contribute to the flavour, with the white throwing out more florals and enhancing the texture, while the shaihong black tea leans towards the fruitier side of things.

These types of blends tend to create and interesting experience that shifts brew to brew, and this tea is no exception. In the long term we expect the flavours to meld, although it can be hard to know exactly what to expect, as these blends tend to go through phases. As time moves on, one tea often makes up for the other’s awkward or quieter time and vice versa.

Although experimental in nature, this tea’s budget beating price makes it low risk, high reward.

Great for when you want a more gentle version of Body and Soul. The black and white both contribute well, and the stamina is great.

    A fight for the spotlight?
//Smell: Upfront black tea smell (raisin bread), then the floral/hay white notes come up
//Texture: Tingling on the tip of the tongue, “weight” on the teeth, medium texture, silky, shiny
//Taste: Sweet dough, desert-bread, herbaceous, ripe fruit, mineral, floral
//Body sensation: Cozy heat, light headed

Wonderful taste! transitions from the gentle, slightly metallic taste of the white tea, into a blend and then the boldness of the black tea hits you right when you’re ready for it.

There’s a fresh, airy sugar here, a floral sweetness alongside green apple, yellow grape, and wispy hints towards malt. This is one of those teas where the fragrance almost has a sort of texture to it, velvety and fuzzy, extending into a sip with mid-bodied warmth.
