Description
Sometimes translated as “Apricot Kernel Fragrance”, we’ve never eaten an apricot pit and therefore can’t attest to whether this is accurate or not. However, this can also be translated as “Almond Fragrance”, which we find this tea demonstrates nicely.
There is a sugar-like sweetness upfront, with a smooth nutty quality that quickly follows. The mouth feel is also excellent, especially for a mid-mountain altitude (>600m) tea.
The development is quite nice from brew to brew, with the almond taste becoming more pronounced by the mid steeps. Overall, this is a great performing tea for the price.
Please note that the 250g size does not include a tin.
$0.43-0.53/gram
Varietal: Xingrenxiang/杏仁香/Almond Fragrance
Region: Wudong Shan, Guangdong
Altitude: 600-800m
We recommend brewing this tea using Chaozhou style gongfu brewing. Here’s how it’s done:
For something different, you can also try cold brewing:

In my experience it’s a 5 star just because of how i felt. This tea hit me. Very fast, hard but good. Nice option to drink with some friends.

Tea that connects emotions. To be enjoyed alone to think better and take the time.

//Texture: Tingling in the front of the palate, smooth coating all over, weight on the back teeth, medium texture, cold effect even when the mouth is closed
//Taste: Pineapple roughness, tangy, mineral, salty?, nougat and almond bar, zesty, lemon vinaigrette
//Body sensation: Comforting heat, weight on the front-head, stillness
