Description
Made from the same material as our Elephant on Pause raw puer, this Bada white tea offers a pleasantly dynamic experience. Although it starts out light on the first brew, this tea comes alive in subsequent infusions, with strong floral notes and a slight fruitiness. The aftertaste, body, fragrance and texture all work together to create a well-rounded package with unusual complexity.
As Yunnan white teas continue to develop, this tea highlights the advancements compared to a decade or so ago, when Yunnan white tea was essentially just Yueguangbai. These days more and more producers and farmers in various part of the provinces have been experimenting and dialing in white tea processing of big leaf material, and as with this tea, with strong results. We feel this is a great tea to compare against more well known Fuding white teas, highlighting the depth of flavour and complexity that Yunnan material can bring to the table.
While it’s quite popular to press white tea for easier storage and transport, we elected to leave this tea loose. With pressing, there is inevitably some trade off of fragrance and quality for that ease of storage and transport. Our intention is to maintain as much of the fragrance and character that we love about this tea.
There is also an option to purchase this tea with our Tea Bank aluminum cannister. This reusable, food grade container is much thicker and sturdier than standard tea tins, and can better protect the leaves during transit.

For a simple tea session
//Smell: Spring vibes, floral bouquet, herbaceous
//Texture: Heat on the front of the palate, thicker cheeks, medium to thick texture
//Taste: Outdoor flowers, creamy, tall grass, honeyed and zesty cold brew infusion
//Body sensation: Body heat, light headed, immobility and silence

This tea is very nice, but I feel I say that about every tea I have from Bitterleaf. They source great stuff ♂️. It’s light, comforting, and super silky. Nice delicate notes of creamy honey, soft florals, crisp pear, and light grassy notes. It has a light fruitiness that brings it all together and makes this a lovely, well rounded, easy drinker that’s priced really well.

Zesty floral sugar, pear, garden grass and a transient dough-y note abound from these gigantic mottled leaves. I find a green tart-ness from time to time, aspects of a summer baimudan along with cucumber and lemon. Very giant, very enjoyable.
