Description
Each of the pieces in this series are truly unique. In addition to featuring a unique relief engraved design, they undergo a wood firing process over a period of several days. The results vary from one another based on placement in the kiln and their interaction with the smoke.
The other key part of the equation is the heavy use of Yixing duanni clay, which is combined with no more than 10% local Jingdezhen clay in order to achieve better stability and a desired effect.
The wood used for firing is also carefully selected. In this case, only larger and older pieces of wood (masson pine) are used, as the smaller pieces do not perform as well and contain less trace elements.
We recommend dedicating this teapot to one type of tea and caring for it the same as with any unglazed or Yixing zisha teaware.
