With both an appreciation for traditional art and a drive for self expression, the studio behind our Alchemy series of teaware is largely directed by 2 young minds. As with many of the newer, innovative studios in Jingdezhen, they draw on traditional influences while also exploring how to add their own style. As the name would suggest, each of these pieces incorporate various metals.

Their unique approach involves combining several artistic disciplines, including painting, calligraphy, incorporating various metals (silver, copper, brass) for binding, and of course the shaping and glazing of the ceramics.

Each of these steps is time consuming, with different specialists contributing their talent along the way. However, the results speak for themself and are a testament to their collective effort.

Please note that the glaze used for these pieces may have noticeable surface crackles. They may also craze with continued use. This is a feature of the glaze and intentional.
